Recent Marriott Bakersfield Review: "I was very impressed with this hotel. We were traveling with two kids and stopped in Bakersfield while on a long road trip. The lobby was very upscale and super clean. Marble tile and very nice decorations. The staff was very professional. The hallways were a little dated but once inside the room... wow, very nice decor. The beds were super comfortable; better than our bed at home. Pillows, sheets, comforters were amazing. There were no fowl odors or any smell for that matter. Nice flat panel TV, good internet access, and nice showers. The kids loved the pool, which was open until 10 PM. My wife thought this hotel was too nice for her taste. But I really liked it. The gym look really nice, but I didn't use it. The Marriott is in the more business area of Bakersfield (e.g. near the convention center). For food, we drove to Baja Fresh down the street and brought it back to eat in our room. In conclusion, I would stay here again. Highly recommended if you are passing through town and need a nice place to stay."
