Recent Doubletree Hotel Bakersfield Review: "The hotel is very nice ~ room was clean, nice and spacious with comfortable beds and the towels were exceptionally thick. The WiFi was "free" if you signed up for their program; otherwise it was around $12/day. I opted not to sign up (just more junk email) and used my cell phone as a hot spot for the limited time I needed internet. The room temperature  was fine but the hallways were freezing. The outside temperature was cool and I don't think they heated the hallways at all. We ate in the restaurant off the lobby and was very disappointed in the quality of food. My husband had a Reuben sandwich and the meat was so full of gristle he finally gave up. My chicken fettuccine was okay but nothing to write home about. I would probably stay here again as the rate was good, the location convenient, and the rooms clean."
